What does Mixed Ages mean? The mixed age (for birth through age 5) class follows the recommendations of child development researchers-grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Children of mixed ages participate at their own level by singing, moving, chanting, listening, and exploring with musical instruments. Can I bring my older sibling to class? Or What is a drop-in?We know that sometimes school takes breaks and you may need to bring an older child who is not registered to class. We allow a sibling 6 yrs and under to attend class for a $10 drop in fee, which can be paid to your teacher the day of the drop in. Children 7 yrs and older are free. Please alert your teacher or the director ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. What if I miss a class during a semester? We offer 2 makeups during a semester. Scheduling of makeups is done online. Your teacher or center director will supply you with instructions on how to do this once registered in a class. Makeups must be made during the session in which class is missed; makeups do not carry over to the next semester; therefore we encourage you to use your makeups and sign up as early as you know you’ll be missing a class. You can attend a makeup class BEFORE you miss a class if you know you’ll be missing. Can I switch to a different class?Requests for class changes must be done in the first 2 weeks of class. Changing classes can only occur if there is room in the class you want to switch. No class changes will be made after the 3rd week of class. What if I start classes after the semester begins? We do not accept families after the 2nd week of class, so if you join in those 2 weeks, we do offer 2 makeups during a session. We do not prorate for missed classes. What if I need to cancel my registration? If you cancel your registration before the semester begins, you will receive a refund less the non-refundable registration fee. Once classes begin please speak to the center director. Anything else a parent should know?In order to keep distractions from the music to a minimum, please do not bring food or toys into the classroom. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to class. All of our locations are "no shoes" facilities , so please remove them before sitting down in the circle. Please feel free to call or email with any other questions. 303-530-0434, jane_roche(at)comcast.net
